early on they are small, but long term go back to larger. somewhat
dependent on how much roughage you eat and how often BM. Those who only go
every few days tend to have larger amounts.

I would have to say no it's not true...I had normal sized ones prior to
surgery and have about the same after. It is true it depends on what you
intake and by this I mean not just the protein and other foods but it also
means the amount of iron you intake. I have a very low ...continually low
ferritin level(iron) and have to take more than the normal amount of iron
supplement to get my level up, which causes me to have rather large and
wide BMS at times and sometimes I do get constipation if I don't stay
on top of my Benefiber intake. We are all different and so is our
plumbing!

Michelle, as long as you are not constipated or passing "pellets"
then I think you are passing normal BMs for you. Sometimes I have solid
stool, other times I fill the comode with loose stool. Both are not what I
used to do, but it empties me out and it works for me. I occasionally get
constipated, and then I work on that too. Pushing too hard is not good
ever, so be sure you have a plan for constipation, but if you are moving
regular, it doesn't matter the size. Take care. Patricia P.

I have large BMs sometimes. I have to take a stool softener every day. to
avoid constipation, in spite of making sure to have roughage.
