MA I don't have any 1st hand knowledge about this but there is a woman in
my support group who got pregnant @ like 4 months post op. She was required
to see her nutritionist more offten & do some extra testing but mom
& baby made out just fine, very healthy.

Congratulations! Don't be scared! I got pregnant at about the same time
post op as you are. I had 2 children before surgery when I was 300+ pounds
and had a terrible time. My post op baby was a perfect pregnancy, even
when I continued to lose weight during the pregnancy. You need to find an
OB who has had experience with a gastric bypass patient. If you can't find
one then you will have to educate your OB. My OB had never had a gastric
bypass patient before. I did a lot of research on the internet and took in
articles for them. There is a Yahoo group that is dedicated to this
situation and they have a lot of good resources. Go to Yahoo, click on
groups, and look for OSSG pregnant. Just keep eating your protein, your
baby will take what it needs from you. Having the baby was sort of a detour
for me from surgery. I continued to lose weight (which worried my dr.'s
but ultrasounds showed the baby was growing fine.) up until the end of the
pregnancy, then after the baby I lost more weight. So take a deep breath
and relax, and take your vitamins. Hope all goes well for you.

I also got pregnant 11 mos. post-op and had a healthy baby. I was also
very scared. I had a great ob-gyn. I was still losing weight at 14 weeks
preg. and I was told to start gaining for the health of the baby. I never
went overboard but added more fat to my diet, like ice cream. I gained
only 20 lbs. and lost it all in 2-3 weeks after the baby was born.
Congratulations!! Think of having a healthy baby and you will be fine.

hey you!
I had RNY in Sept of 2005, then got pregnant in May of 2006(8 months post
op) and just had my beautiful, healthy baby boy on Jan 16TH!!! I started
out at 270, was 170 when found out I was prego, then before I gave birth I
was 170 (!) and I am now 6 weeks after delivery and am 150.
Have no fear....just be careful to take double prenatals, keep diet and
exercise maintained, and get lots of rest!!!
Best of luck, you will be so healthy for your new baby!!! :)
