Question:
My left rib cage has a moving mass that hurts like a muscle. What is it?
It moved like a muscle and/or intestine. I have strained it which has caused pain like a muscle but also moves in reaction to being gassy like an intestine. It is not a hernia though. Anyone know what this is and what I can do to ease the pain and strain? — Tammy Douglas (posted on August 7, 2006)

Tamera, I read your profile and I'm sorry you weren't totally prepared,
leading up to your surgery date. I had my last meals four weeks prior as
the preceeding 6 months I had been preparing by being on the Super Atkins
diet with no carbs at all and didn't have to do the Bowel Prep as our
surgeon has us do a two week liquid only Optifast shake diet.
Your profile states you received the RNY but not wether it was Open or
Laproscopic. If it was Lapro, your pain could be left over gases they've
used to expand your inners to be able to get around while inside you.
You see your surgeon Thursday it will be best to ask them. If you have any
other concerns don't wait call their office. They want you to be successful
maybe more than you, as if your a success they'll get referrals from you/
You also state you've known others who received the WLS, do you stay in
contact with them as for support & suggestions?
Hoping all turns out well for you, Mike

I had that, too, and still do occassionally, but you should bring it up
with your surgeon anyway.
