Question:
On Oct 1 my insurance with AETNA PPO will go into effect. I have an appt
with the same surgeon who did my rny back in 2000...yes I need a revision:(..My surgeon;s office told me that AETNA will require 3 months of doctors care from my PCP and 3 months froma nutrionist..I have to move quick to make sure I have all the paper work, My question is are places like Jennie Craig and Quick weight Loss centers considered dieticians or nutrionists?? ALso any one else out there who had a revision done through Aetna PPo? How quick was the decision? They did cover my original surgery.. Thanks — tylerswife (posted on July 31, 2006)

I don't think they will allow jennie or quick weight loss, or weight
watchers etc. They are not a medical center. you need to contact your
insurance company

NO, the insurance companies won't accept the records from these type places
as the don't have Certifications as Medical Centers & are not doctor
supervised firms. You'll have to actually be on a program with your Primary
and have every visit documented in your records. It also has to be month to
month with no breaks or the insurance will refuse and have you start over.
Frusrtating but required.

wow...a revision?
What happened, I would really reserch your desision...
I would love to chat with you...
I thought I would do the same thing 2 .5 years ago, I just reaaly had to
find what was the root of the problem.
I am not sure what is going on with you. I did gain a lot of weight back
and fell hard off the wagon. I have lost from 327 to 140 the back to 150
then to 198...I was scared. I was evry sick from mal nourishment...
I was put on a great program and now I am 127 full of life again... My body
fat% is un believable, my health is at its best and I feel and look un
real!
I am so glad I made the choice I did.
I batteled an obese mind for so many months, giving up on my life.
I have an amazing story and serch to change others just like me everyday
with my story!
It is all about finding your "why" through a process of a DREAM
you once had before WLS...
I may be totally out of bounds right now, I do not know your story...
However I am all ears and willing to lend a shoulder.
I am a mother of 2 beautiful children and a wife to an unbelievabe husband
who watch me suffer through many battles.
Now the gal I am today, I am here to domino the effect of my success!
Lending an ear and a sholder is very simple...Find a special person in your
life who has many troubles just like yourself and it is like relationships
build a ground of focus to understand one another...

I tend to agree with Michael. They probably want someone with a medical
certification. For mine, i needed a doctor's supervision. I have Aetna
POS II.
