I guess I don't understand- "sick enough"??? Do you mean none,
or no or not enough co-morbitites? Or just not a high enough BMI? Can you
qulify your question? What did your surgeon say, has the insurance company
denied your surgery request for lack of BMI and or co-Morbids?

Takisha, I went to your profile to see what you meant by sick enough, all
insurance companies and surgeons have qualifications for this surgery, I
didn't see any info on your profile, what is your BMI? what co-morb. do you
have? How long have you been morbity obese? All of these play a factor into
the surgery, it is alife changing decision that requires alot of work on
our part in order to be successful, it is only a tool.
If you give us some more info someone can probably help you.
But just for generalization most Dr. and Insurance co. require a BMI of 35
or more with 2 co-morib. or a BMI of over 40 without co-morbids. Again that
is just general. Best of Luck. Jen

If you don't meet the established criteria you won't be approved for
surgery, or even considered. Your profile doesn't really explain your
situation.

I had a Bmi of exactly 40, which probably wasnt true because I still had
muscle from when I used to work out. I weighed 292 Ilbs, maybe a light
weight to some since I am a guy. I have lost the weight to always put it
back on. I can tell you other than mid to high cholesterol, I had no
medical problems. I did my surgery as a preventive solution, and my
insurance company approved me the first time around "Oxford"
