Hi Melinda, I am six months out and I still lose more then normal. I don't
think it's so bad that you can see my scalp but it's still coming out. I
don't think it's as bad as before but it's still more then before. I
started taking Biotin 1000 mg a day. It's for skin and hair. I think that
helped alot and also make sure you are getting in enough protein(60-70g a
day)that is very important. I hope i've helped. Let me know if you need
anymore help. Jeannie

No Melinda ,you are not alone. I am almost 4 months out and I too am losing
hair by the handfuls , I take Biotin also for skin , hair and nails about 3
weeks now my nails look really nice but I haven't noticed a big difference
with my hair yet. I have heard low iron can cause hair loss . I haven't had
my blood done lately to see if iron is the cause. I heard Zinc helps too.
Thank goodness I started with alot and I mean alot of naturally curly
hair. but I can see my scalp now too. Good luck ,did you try curling your
hair that can be a good camoflauge.

Hello to all. I am 10 1/2 months out. Hair loss is a challenge. It should
peak at about 6-7 months and then improve. Be sure you are getting enough
high quality protein. You may want to bost how much protein you are taking
in. Using something like Nectar or Matrix will really help if you are not
already.
Hang in there- I also make sure to take my vitamins- don't skip them
ever!!!!!!!!!! Your beauty salon may be able to treat your hair with
protein as well but it works best if it comes from within. Congrats and let
us know how you are doing.
If it makes you feel any better, my hair was past my sholder blades. I lost
9 inches of hair within 3 months and then another 7 after that. My hair is
now barely shoulder length but growing once again. So it does get better.

Well I am 9 months out and finally have quit loosing my hair but i am a
lucky one I had lots I could lose. You loose I think 100 strands a day
normally but I know when I looked in the tub and seen lots it scared the
heck out of me. Make sure you are getting lots of protein because if you
aren't then you will loose alot more. I still drink protein everyday I but
GNC liquid protein and put it in crystal light I love the taste of it. If
you would like to know more write me... Thanks Cindy

Hair grows in 3 month cycles which is why surgery patients tend to begin to
lose their hair within 3 months of surgery. This is also why you can
expect it to fall out for approximately 3 months. The good news is that,
if you are getting enough protein (make sure to check your albumin and
pre-albumin levels on your blood work) your hair should stop falling out
approximately 6 months post-op and eventually grow back the same as it was
pre-surgery. Hang in there!

Hi Melinda. My hair fell out in handfuls at around the 5 month mark. I am
now nearly 9 months post op and it has slowed to a few. It will stop and
you won't go bald--it just feels like it won't stop. Just up your protein.
Best of luck to you.
