Question:
Why am I so tired?
I am 6 months post op, 74 lbs down. I am finding that I am always VERY tired after eating. I just put 2 & 2 together the other day and noticed that if I eat 'a lot' I get really tired. Example, I had 2 pieces of raising toast one morning and was yawning/sleepy for the next couple of hours. On another day, I just had yogart and was fine. Am I eating too much? I had a beef/bean chimichanga today and the same thing happened (sleepy). Really concerned that I am taking in too much food and this is my body's way of telling me to 'ease up'? Please let me know. You are experiencing a mild form of dumping. The raisin toast has too many
carbs for you. I have no idea what a chimichanga is, but I think there's a
tortilla involved. Too many carbs. I dump like this when I eat pasta. If
you had a sf yogurt, you wouldn't have dumped, though some people do.

You might try eating some protein FIRST! Its better for you too, and may
elminate or decrease the tired feeling...

A chimi is loaded with carbs and fats and very little protein. I dump on
Fats. When I dump I get very tired. I could just curl up in a corner and
sleep. If that happens I place that on my mental "don't eat
again" list. I may not how much you are eating, but WHAT you are
eating. Best wishes, Maggie B.

I know this answer I know this answer. You are dumping alot of people dump
from carbs, and that's what your doing. It's not the amount it that carbs
are what make you dump. For me I dump on tomatoes(so annoying its a tomato
dangit) and things that are rich and full of sugar.

You have described me to a "T". Anything that is more carbs than
protien and I am sleepy sleepy sleepy. Here's a couple of examples.....I
was at a wedding a couple of months ago and had 2-3 small bites of cake. 3
minutes later I was driving myself home and I could not get to the bed fast
enough. Yesterday I had half of a quesadilla, and was yawning for a good
hour. I seem to do okay with carbs if there is major protien involved and
especially if the carbs are whole wheat. Like, I can have half of a tuna
sandwhich on whole wheat, and I have no problem. It's all trial and error.
Each month, I add foods to my list of "you cant have that if you want
to stay at this function/party/event/work/etc). I am nine months out and
still learning. Good Luck!
P.S. Raisin's are WAY high in sugar, plus the sugar they put in the bread,
plus the bread itself. You might as well have eaten a piece of cake! lol
