It depends on whether you had Lap or open. I am sure that there are
restrictions with open but with lap it is as soon as you feel up to it. For
most of the peole I know that was a couple of weeks. Just be careful and
start slow and if you are in discomfort stop. I would imagine the same
would be true of the Gyn.

I had Lap RNY surgery on 9/11/03, had my JP drain removed on 9/22, and I
think we had sex the next day. It was fine, we just took it easy and
gentle. I saw my ob-gyn in November, as I was overdue for a yearly at that
time. No problems with the exam or anything like that. Best wishes.

I am having surgery (lap RNY) tomorrow and was reading through the info my
doctor gave me. It said to wait at least 1-2 weeks.

I had open RNY and in the discharge instructions I got from my surgeon it
said 3 weeks. Just take it slow and easy. As far as seeing the gyn, I
imagine it would be the same, a few weeks after surgery, check with surgeon
to be sure.

I had rny about a year ago and I remmenber my husband asking the doc how
long before we could? the doc told me when ever and what ever was
comfertable for me. We were back in the swing of things at 1 week and a
half.
