Question:
can second hand smoke cause you to fail a blood gas test?
i have been through alot , had my surgery postponed because of 3 cigarettes i smoked in a stressful time i just reacted. i confessed to the dr and he postponed my surgery and now i have not had any cigarettes , so all together i guess its just thoughs 3 in around 5 weeks. my home is smoke free. problem is i spend my days with chain smokers ( my family does not think it important enough not to smoke around me) they are chain smokers, is there anyway , i can fail a blood gas test because of being around all the smoke? — WENDY W. I have to disagree with the previous poster..When I had my ABG'S the tech
specifically asked me if I smoked... one of my levels were abnormal.. I
told him no.. I do not smoke but my hubby does.. like a chimney.. and he
said that would affect that particular level... so yes.. secondhand smoke
can affect an ABG... Chris
