Hi Michele: 1) Hair loss usually occurs between the 4th and 10th month post-up; 2) Don't know if it'll come back in gray or not; 3) Yes, it will come back and the shedding WILL stop! :) My support group last week said to try an over-the-counter supplement called "Biotin" to slow hair loss. They were all swearing by it! Hope that helps (and let us know, OK?) Thanks! P.S. 77 lbs. in 3 mos?? You GO, Girl!!! :)

it will stop evenually! it shold be the same color is was as the color pigment is not effected by the loss and new hair production, just the hair root, it is from the shock to your system of the surgery the drugs and the rapid wieght loss. it will grow back but before you notice it will be months keep in mind it only grows aboit 1/2 inch a month it will take 2 months beofre it is out of your scalp enough to begin to notice and a few more months before you can see it thicking back up. but texture and so on should pretty much be as it was before. cutting it will NOT make it stop, but some people seem to think it helps but the hair grows from the root in the scalp not the end so that is simpy not so. what is gping to come out will brushing it and shampooing it will not matter, but they make special shampoos that are susppose to help the yare expensive. keep what oyu have left in as good condition as possible and ride it out! its part of the price we must pay!

My hair fell out from 3-6 mos. post op. I strongly recommend Real Meals - one shake a day. It's high in Biotin which helps reduce hair loss. I started drinking them in June any my hair loss lessened and then stopped by late July early August. And it's very high in protein as well. Good luck!

My hair started coming out immediately after surgery more due to the anesthesia and shock of surgery. Now at 7 months out it has slowed down a little. had another major surgery last year and the same thing happened and YES, it has come back in Gray, More like silver. My hair is light brownish with some blonde. I have tried to color it and the gray is still there.
