If things don't work out for you consider driving a few miles south to see Dr. Sooriash. I think he is wonderful and would recommend him to anyone. His number is (904)399-5757. It is hard to find in the phone book.

Dr. Henderson was my doc, and I was very happy with him. The hospital is outfitted with the newest 3D technology for Lap operations, and he studied under Wittgrove for RNY. The system is as follows: call for info packet, complete, mail back, wait for what seems like FOREVER (but is really only a week) call the office, call them again, and call them again to ensure that they're working on your insurance approval. Cheryl is the woman who handles it and she's a very hard worker and very professional. Once approved, you will be scheduled for a consult with the doc that will usually be only 1-2 weeks before the surgery date. It can be a little nervewracking to wait so long to finally meet him, but that's their system. He's not lost a patient yet, although one died from cancer shortly after, and one died from congestive heart failure that was present long before the operation. Good luck to you!
