Hi, Jennifer: You don't say how long you've been going to this class or
how many weeks, so I would think the best thing to do would be to just go
to her tomorrow and tell her what you just posted; that you don't feel that
the class is helping, you've gained a pound since you've started, and you'd
like to talk to a surgeon about weight loss surgery, then ask her of she
would give you the OK for your appt. with the surgeon. Hopefully, she
won't be one of those people who is totally against the surgery and thinks
that all we have to do is eat less and exercise more and we'll lose weight.
If you're lucky, she'll be open to the idea; tell her you've researched it
and feel like it may be the best option for you at this time. Good luck;
let me know how it goes! God Bless...

Just a thought, but wouldn't it be worthwhile to continue with the
nutritionist while you are waiting for your surgery? I realize you need to
ask for her OK to apply for the surgery. I'm doing weight watchers while
waiting for my surgery date. I'm down 20.6 lbs so far and hope to lose
more before surgery in the fall. It is helping to keep me on track and
accountable so that I don't go back to my "last meal" syndrome.
