Dear Juanita,
I had Open RNY surgery with Dr. Boe in Bellvidere back on June 3rd of this
year. HE WAS WONDERFUL!!! They (hospital staff) are very good about helping
you out with the pain...just let your nurse know, and the Dr. when he comes
in to check on you. They adjusted mine right away - and when I left the
hospital, I was given oral (liquid) medications for the pain. This was my
one and only surgery, ever, and I was afraid at 41 yrs. old that I was too
old to try it. As of today,(4 months later) I have lost 80lbs and am
extremely happy I went through with it. Best wishes, I will be saying a
prayer for your safety October 23! Good luck. Write if you have any
questions. Deb

Hi juanita!! I had surgery at BTC in Belvidere, IL with Dr. Boe on 8/28/02
and have a fabulous expirence!! The staff was wonderful and Dr. Boe was
wonderful. They were always asking me what my pain level was and if it was
tolerable. I was feeling great the whole time I was there. I was in a
little bit of pain when they took the morphine away but, it was soon under
control again with shots. The nurses are so friendly (I had a woman named
Vicki) and the aides are great too! They helped me when it was time to
take my first shower and I didn't even need to ask for it. They just knew
about some things yet they had no problems leaving me alone when I needed
it as well. You will have a good expirence there too! Good luck on your
surgery...you will be just fine! Email if you like
[email protected]. HUGS!
