Question:
Watching the video reallllly freaked me out! I had decided to have the surgery but..
now I am REALLY scared! I know it is a serious thing and I am not taking it lightly but I guess I was focusing on the people that had made it through successfully instead of the actual procedure. Has anyone else seen the streaming video of the surgery and been scared by it? I don't know if I can go through with this now and I already have my consult appointment all set. Can someone that has had the procedure let me know how they felt about the video if they saw it? Thanks~! Barbi — Barbi B. (posted on August 18, 2001)

I also saw the video before surgery. It didnt really bother me. Think about
it any surgery looks gross and weird. Once you get in the OR you will have
no idea what they are doing because you will be out. DOnt worry about it.
Go watch a video of a c-section or another surgery they are all freaky but
you do what you have to when you need surgery. Good Luck. 3 months Post op

I also was scared to darn death...i froze in my tracks!!!!
BIG PANIC ATTACK
my husband sat with me for awhile and asked
What do you remember about your gall bladder surgery?
i said....Duhhh..nothing....
He said ..what ever you decide im with you but just think
all you remember is going into the room and coming out....
discomfort....some pain...and with the surgery...wowo...the benefits..!!!!!
So, for ME im focused and going ahead...
YOU HAVE TO DECIDE FOR YOURSELF..its no bodys job to talk you into
this.....just support what you decide...Jacki :)

Does anyone have the URL for the video we're talking about? I have lost
where I ran across it and have had several people email me wanting to know
where to view it at. If someone knows the URL for the video it would be
very helpful if you posted it here....thanks

I don't have the exact URL but go to www.theuniversityhospital.com and
click on Centers for Excellence and then scroll down to the obesity surgery
center--If you have never seen a surgery before--be aware that this quite
graphic but oh so fascinating! Pass the popcorn please!!
