Question:
Are Binders used after Lap. RNY?

Hello---I just had Lap R-N-Y On July 31st, And yes...I have a binder...the hospital gave it to me... I woke up with it on... I'm 9 days post-op and still am wearing it... it feels good to have it on still.... I'm 22 5'0 219 and lost 19 lbs.. in 9 days... Good Luck kiara

I had Lap RNY and I did not receive a binder - nor do I really think I would have needed one. I don't think any of us in our support group have had binders (we're all with a lap surgeon). I was feeling fine - moving around with no problems and home in 1 day after surgery.

Hi, I had LAP RNY 11 days ago, and was not given a binder, but I do wear support underwear at home, and it helps.

I asked and got one, actually two since one was too small. It helped at times. I wore it the other day under my shirt cutting grass. It really helped for this. I have grown up I guess. In 1975 they gave me a binder after my appendix removal. I refused to use it because it was like a girdle and I felt it wrong for a guy. Now I share wearing it on the internet with my friends here. Yeah I am older and wiser I think...
