Yes,it's dairy, although not in the sense of having the lactose you might
be intolerant to post-op. But it has toomuch sugar and too little protein.
Try a low-carb drink. Even Wal-mart has a few.--Jesse

Hi, every set of instructions is different. I was told only
clear liquids after 3:00 the day before. Meaning no milk or
diet shakes. I would think that since they are working with
intestines they wouldn't want anything like milk or diet shakes
because they have enough nutrients and substance to produce
stools. I also had to take a laxitive at 3:00 to remove anything in
my system. I hope this helps. I was able to drink pop, water, broth,
stuff like that. Good luck.

I was told only liquids that you can see through the day before surgery.
Also, you should try and get plenty of water that day because, depending on
your doctor, you may not be getting so much as an ice chip until after your
chest x-ray, typically on day 2 after surgery. Why risk being dehydrated
and drinking something like Boost? If you are concerned enough to post
your question on here, then deep down, you already know the answer. Drink
something else! Good luck to you!!!!
