Question:
How soon after gall bladder surgery is it safe to have lap RNY?

During the testing for the RNY surgery, I had a couple of gallbladder episodes. My doctor does not want to wait for insurance approval (in the first stages) before doing the surgery. I have a blockage which could mean infection. I asked how long before I could do the RNY surgery and he said it just depends on how I feel after gallbladder surgery. I was so disappointed that this could not be done at the same time. I am so ready for the WLS surgery. Has anyone else had WLS surgery right after recovery from gallbladder surgery? I had gall bladder surgery yesterday, (November 3rd), and I am sceduled for weight loss surgery November 17th. Only two weeks apart! Yay! Hope this helps.
