Question:
How should I go about getting medicaid to approve the surgery for me.

I just got approved for a medical card after fighting for it for months I have not rec'd it yet but i will in the next couple days and I want to be ready because I don't know how long I will have medicaid. Any suggestions?    — Holly M. (posted on July 11, 2001)

As long as it's medically necessary you will have no problem with medicaid getting approved, One thing you have to prove is that this surgery will elliminate some of your illinesses. Your Doctor should be able to prove this with all the test he takes, if you are healthy and just need to lose some weight then they won't approve it. Talk to you doctor, his staff is suppose to do the rest.
