Question:
I see my surgeon at 1:00 pm, the hospital for pre-op tests at 2:00. All this on the
day before surgery!! Should I be worried that something may come up? I am. My surgeon did say that I was a perfect candidate. I just worry that I'll be physically and emotionally prepared and then some big disappointment will happen. Has this ever happened to anyone? Cancellation at the very last hour?? I guess I just need some comforting on this issue. — [Anonymous] (posted on June 19, 2001)

I had my pre-ops 3 days prior to surgery, and when I reported in the
morning of surgery, found out that not all required testing was done. The
hospital did the required blood test and I was only an hour late for my
surgery. So don't worry about it. Although it is possible that they might
find something, the changes are that everything will go smoothly and you
will soon be on the "lighter side"! Best wishes on a smooth
journey. Hugs and kisses!
