Question:
anyone had to have a physical and history prior to surgery
I can't get appt with pcp until late june for physical. She is very supportive of my intention for wls. I can get an appt with another doc next week, and am tempted to do that, but I don't know what kind of support I will get, and if it will be worth it. — landal (posted on June 2, 2001)

Do you need the hist & phys for your insurance co or the surgeon, or
both? Do you have an HMO that requires referrals. I didnt need any referral
letter to go to my surgeon, but I went anyway and had him give me a
referral letter so I would have it in case, for insurance. I also did not
need a complete physical but my surgeon does do an exam. Why not get your
hist & phys by another doc who can see you sooner. Have call your PCP
office and request they write up a letter of any past diet attempts they
managed, then go to your regular PCP for aftercare. Just a thought! Good
luck!
