Question:
What are CBC and electrolyte tests

My Dr. wants me to be tested for CBC and electrolytes a week before the surgery on 6/26/01. 1. What are these tests? 2. Why couldn't they get that info from the blood I gave to the endocrinologist 3 weeks ago? Just curious, and I asked him so many other questions, I forgot to ask this.    — Kimberly L. The cbc is a complete blood count..It checks white cels, red cells, platelets and things like that. I believe the electrolyte is things such as pottasium level as well as others. Some times blood is put into special vials for certain tests so that may be why the last blood you gave was not used. Also these can change somewhat from time to time so the doctor may have wanted to wait for that reason. I hope this helped.
