Question:
I am now 4 days post op and I wanted to know when does the belching and gassy

feeling in my stomach go away...Sometimes I can not tell if I am full or if it is just gas backed up in my stomach... Please give me as much info as possible...    — Ang B. (posted on April 4, 2001)

Angie, I had surgery in Aug.(not WLS)and the surgeon told me the gas can linger for a couple of months(due to anesthesia). You want to walk around as much as possible. This will help any gas or gas pockets to loosen and leave the body quickly. I know it's not attractive but the belching and all is good-you're getting rid of it! Hang in there. Realize the gas may not be around for a few months but I think you have a little while longer to go.(hopefully only a week). Best wishes
