Question:
How much should I expect to lose in 2 weeks?

I have my first post op appointment with my doctor in about 2 weeks and I was wondering how much weight should be off by then, I am asking this so I can make sure I am doing all of the right things. I have been home for 2 days and I have not lost anything yet, should I stop stressing on this issue, or should I have lost something by now....Any answers greatly appreciated..    — Ang B. Quit worrying.............. This surgery does work There is no set amount you must lose Sometimes because of the IV's in the hospital you might have even gained weight... Just keep up on your vitamens and Protein drink this operation will take care of the rest

Sometimes you gain a little weight in the hospital from all the IV fluid you should lose that in a few days. I lost 16lbs in 2 weeks but it all depends on where you start and how active you are.

Yeah don't worry too much just make sure you are getting in what you can and are supposed to... and that your caloric intake it within the limits the Dr or nutritionist gave you. It will all start coming off soon.. who knows you may be surprised when you go in that you have lost more than you think. Good luck. Dawn

On my 3 wk. post-op appt. I lost 21 lbs. Everyone is different so don't compare yourself to everyone else. You will lose: maybe not as fast or as slow as anyone else, but you will lose.

I gained EIGHT POUNDS in the hospital from the fluids. EGAD! Now, how smart was it for me to weight about then? I guess I must've been thinking I'd drop 100# the day after surgery. My friend had to let her husband carry the scale in his car to work every day. She got custody on Sundays only. Was the only way to save her sanity. And his. And mine. You'll be saner yet if you only weigh on your doc's scale.
