Question:
Is losing 117 pounds the average for the first year
I feel as if I should have lost more by now. I'm in a size 8 and my goal was a size 10, but I still weight more than I shoud. What should I do? — cece T. (posted on March 22, 2001)

Having lost 117 in a year is a *major* accomplishment! You should be so
proud of yourself!!!!! And to know that you are in a size 8 too...Phewy!
That is a major step...Also going past the goal of a size 10, don't be too
hard on yourself. If you have stopped losing or have found yourself on an
extremely long plateau (seeing as your 'windo of opportunity' is 18 months
to 2 yrs) perhaps you should look at what your diet is consisting of and if
you are eating 3 squares vs. grazing all day. And as Barb Day said, this
is not about getting skinny (that's just one of the perks LOL) It's about
being healthy and I am sure that you are feeling a ton healthier than you
did a year ago! Keep up the good work and if you modify your diet, then
perhaps more will come off...BTW You didn't specify what your starting
weight was or how tall you are...
Best of Luck
