Question:
Does everyone require a pre-op endoscope test prior to surgery?

I don't know about all Dr's requiring it, but my surgeon did and I'm glad.
He found I had a hiatal hernia by doing that procedure, which explained
alot of symptoms that I had been having! They give you drugs so you don't
remember the experience as a horrible one! Good luck to you!

Nope ... not required for me. My surgeon said he only requires them if
there is a history of GERD (Gastric Reflux Disease), Ulcers or other
various stomach disorders. Otherwise, it's not required. I must note also
... I had my gallbladder out three years ago and had an endoscope at that
time. It was painless, especially since they sedate you some what. It was
more annoying than anything. Best Wishes on your Journey!

I had one done because I had the H-Pilori (sp) bacteria. As stated before,
it was painless. Not to worry.

Mine required it. I was petrified! It was totally painless
and easy. No need to worry at all!
