Question:
I was wondering if anyone had experiece with the nursing care at California Pacific?
I am hoping to have my surgery out of town in San Francisco and wondered what the hospital/nursing care was like at California Pacific Medial Cente. Is the staff used to working with WLS pts? Do they have bariatric beds? I would hate to go to the bother of a 7-8 drive not to be treated properly. (I can stay it locally for that) I have read horror stories about unprofessional conduct and prejudice and was hoping there was special training as so many Lap BPD/DS are done there.TIA — X X. I thought my nursing care was a non-event; not great, but certainly not
dreadful for the first two days. The day I was released, I had an
absolutely astounding nurse who went out of her way to be helpful. I
pretty much felt like I was on my own, but when I asked for something I got
a response, and all of the staff were very pleasant.
But watch out for the x-ray techs during the leak test - boy if I could
corner one of them now in a dark alley.....
Good luck.

I had my surgery there and had great care.I also had a family member with
me at all times and they were very nice to my family. Ditto to the the
other post about the x-ray dept., they were very rude and rough. Good luck.
