Question:
Is it true that water passes right through you?
I could not drink water at first and now I can drink alot, i get a full feeling then it goes away, but I can keep drinking it. I am just worried that it will stretch my pouch out. — Jackie R. (posted on January 26, 2001)

Hi! I worried about the same thing...I never felt full and just knew I had
already stretched my pouch. I called the clinic and they said you can't
stretch your stomach while drinking liquids because it does just pass right
through. Keep sipping it though, if you gulp it ... it will hurt!

For the first 3-4 weeks, you're swollen inside, so even liquids just
trickle through. By the 4th week, I could drink up to 12 oz of water at a
time because -- just like they said -- it passes right through. Thicker
liquids are slower.
