Question:
Did you know that taking multivitamins ritualistically may prevent cataracts?

A new study reveals that the daily ritual of taking a multivitamin may protect against cataracts. Researchers found that people who took a daily multivitamin or a supplement that contained vitamin C or E for more than 10 years had a 60% lower risk of developing most kinds of cataracts.    — Cindy H. How big was the study? Did they go out 3 sigma? What was the Correlation at 3 sigma? What was the mean age of the participants? How much Vit.C & E did their supplement contain? Mine contains only 15mg of C and 15iu of E; both half the MDR. Did they take any additional C or E? (You can buy -1 gram- tablets of C and many people, Linus Pauling, comes to mind, believe in taking grams of it a day.) Or were they given a multi-vitamin containing only Vit C & E? Maybe it was the cornstarch or wax from the pills that did it.

As an Optometrist, I can tell you that nutritional supplements are always helpful to the tissues in your eye. You should also always wear sunglasses!! U.V. can cause early cataracts, as can smoking. Yet another reason to quit!
