Question:
Lap postops: have any of you had trouble with port sites bleeding?

I'm 10 days postop from lap RNY, and all my port sites were dry and healing when I left the hospital 5 days ago. Since being home, my drain site and 2 port sites crack open and bleed, then stop, then start. Is this common? Thanks.    — Leah B. (posted on January 7, 2001)

I don't know how old this question is, but my doctor advised me to call the office if there was any bleeding or draining. I assume some is normal, but you can never be too safe.
