Question:
Are they safe to eat?
I am 2 monthes out of my open rny and I love pumpkin seeds- roasted. Not store bought but home made. Are they safe to eat? The only posting I saw was from someone who shelled them but I eat them as is. — Jill M. (posted on October 25, 2000)

If you feel confident that you can chew them enough, then I would say yes.
Having had stuff stuck in my tummy though, and enduring cramps, I'd be
inclined to shell them first. Happy Halloween!

I am 8 months post-op, and I have eaten many kinds of nuts and seeds and
have not had a problem. I eat pumpkin seeds with the shell, but I make
sure to chew them thoroughly. In fact, I am planning on roasting some
tonight! Good Luck,
