Question:
Weight of Excess Skin - Survey For Post-Ops who had Plastic Surgery: How much did your excess skin w
I would like to hear from post-ops who are at least one-year post-op. Please let us know what type of plastic surgery you had and how much your excess skin weighed. Thanks! — [Deactivated Member] (posted on September 11, 2000)

I had a TT. I weighed 129 at the time and ended up at 112 or so. I was
ALL stomach, still with some fat aboard, and yet the excised portion only
weighed about 4#. However, I lost more wt because I wasn't fnished yet and
because we're SO tight, we can barley eat! I've obverved 2 TT procedures.
The one who was nearly at goal had NO fat on board and the excess skin also
weighed in at 4#. The other was 50# from goal and hers weighed 10#. It
filled a regular sized dishpan! Fat doesn't weight that much, so even
though you think you can upholster the interior of a Suburban with it, it's
not going to change your wt substanitally. Healing, time, recovery will
all help take a few more lbs off, though.

The PS said the skin removed from my tummy tuck weighed 4-5 pounds. After
surgery I was down 5 pounds. Greatest thing I ever did for myself (except
the WLS, that is)

No answer but I would like to know that myself. I woulf think it would be a
lot depending on how much weight you had lost beforehand

I lost 95 lbs. 3 years ago and had a TT. I believe they removed about 4-5
lbs. My weight went up to 244 lbs. after this surgery and decided to have
the WLS in April 2000, and I have lost 75 lbs. so far. Funny though, I
never gained any weight back in my tummy...it was all in my butt! Anyway,
2 weeks ago I had a breast reduction and my surgeon removed about 400cc of
tissue (about 1 pound), and I couldn't be happier.
