Question:
WHAT FOODS ARE HIGH IN POTASSIUM?
Help! I am in need of lots of potassium. Mine is very low and it is causing problems. I am currently on pottasium prescribed by my physician. It is hard on the stomach. I need to know of foods that I can eat post op that are HIGH IN POTASSIUM. My surgeon says I will have to continue to eat them to keep my level up. I know that bananas and orange juice are high, but what are the others? Anyone else have this problem post op? Thanks — kathy S. (posted on September 9, 2000)

Most foods contain potassium, but fruits and vegetables are the richest
sources. Some of the highest potassium-containing fruits and veggies
include:
Apricots
Avocados
Bananas
Dried fruit
Figs
Guava
Kiwi
Nectarines
Oranges
Peaches, fresh
Plums
Dried beans
Nuts: all kinds
Potatoes
Split peas/lentils
Sweet potatoes
Tomatoes
(I found this by searching the Net)
