Hi Allison, Some signs of dehydration are dry mucosa (mouth and tongue),
dry skin with little elasticity. Pinch your arm and see if the skin seems
to tent up and does not go right back into place. Also, you will go for
long periods of time without urinating and your urine will be
concentrated.Hope this helps!

You may also feel lightheaded and even pass out. A little broth can help.
It's the sodium in it that you need.

I read somewhere that if you feel thirsty, you've waited too long to drink
something.

repeated gagging
severe nausea
light headedness/faintness
tingling in arms and legs
depression
extreme dryness in skin/mouth/throat/"other" areas
extreme tiredness
feet going to sleep
cramping
no desire to eat or drink at all
bottom line: the worst feeling you've ever had in your life = extreme
dehydration..
drink.. when your body says it doesnt want it.. drink at all times..
especially the first few weeks post op.. drink even if you hate every
swallow.. it will speed up your recovery.. don't think that a cup or two is
enough.. you are not eating either.. and there is alot of fluid in food..
you need more liquids than ever.. if you can't drink water.. find something
else.. just drink.. and see your doctor if you can't.. immediately.. it
will make post surgery so much better.. beleive me..
