Check with the Bariatric Treatment Center (BTC) they have an ad on this
site. They should be able to give you the code, and if your are near an
area they serve and if you use them they will help with your approval. I
would always use the doctor to help with the approval, If you are not up on
insurance procedeure and jargon they may try to jerk you around until you
give up.

Peggy, I think that I can help you out with the (Procedure Code), It is:
(43846) of the CPT,1999 Book. I am in school to be a Medical Biller &
Medical Coder out of my house. The Medical Community is still using the
1999 CPT-Book, so do not be alarmed. And in the CPT-Book it reads like this:
Gastric restrictive procedure, with gastric bypass for morbid obesity; with
short limb (less than 100 cm) Roux-Y gastroenterostomy. Peggy I hope that I
have answered your question. Good Luck!
