Question:
Dr. says the hole in my incision is not going to heal on it's own???

I went in for my six month post-op check on Monday (down 80lbs.) and Dr. Anthone told me the hole I am still packing in my incision is not going to heal and he would have to fix it when I did my tummy tuck or if I wanted to fix it by itself sooner. Has anyone else ever heard of this? I know many of us have had to "pack" their incisions but not having one heal at all I've never heard of. BTW this all started when I had three holes open on my incision, they oozed a clear liquid. Dr. A made the holes about the size of a q-tip and I had to pack them twice a day. The two bottom holes healed, the top still hasn't. That's the one he's talking about. It kind of scares that only surgery will fix this, please let me know if anyone's heard of this.    — Christina D. (posted on September 1, 2000)

My husband had one of these annoying holes, too. Took forever to close up, like 4 months. How much protein supplement and vite C do you take? Has increasing these made any difference at all?
