Question:
Does Anyone use the new Spray Vitamins?

I take a daily multivitamin (Physician's ProCare), but wanted to incorporate zinc and additional B12. My surgeon's secretary told me of some sprays that were featured at the ASBS convention, and just this week someone has been advertising them here on the AMOS site. From what I have learned, you spray the product into your mouth (similar to a breath spray), and the body absorbs it sublingually. I went to the advertised site (KareMor) and requested samples, but haven't heard from a representative. They are expensive - $19.95 for one - so I wanted a sample to see how it tastes, if it works, and whether it would be something for me. I wondered if anyone is using this or a similar product and what your results have been. I hate taking pills now, and don't care much for injections. Thanks for sharing!    — [Deactivated Member] (posted on August 11, 2000)

Hi Denise, If you get any info on theses vitamins, please share with me. I would like samples, too so if they are available let me know. Thank you so much!

When you get info on Spray vitamins please post on message board. I'm 32 days pre op and buying stuff like vitamins now. I'm sure many others are also interested.

Hi, I used the spray vitamins for a year or so. I used the multivitamin, the mineral and B12. At 11 months post op I was severely B12 deficient (even though I was using double doses of the Spray B vitamins and the spray multivitamin has 100% of your B12 as well) and now take a shot once a month. The spray vitamins taste okay, but you can smell and taste a little of the vitamins. There are lots of distributors on the Internet and KareMor has their own web site and 800#. If one distributor doesn't help you there are tons more out there that will. If you do an internet search on Spray Vitamins, Vitamist or KareMor International you should come up with lots of sites. I've never been able to take vitamins in any pill form - they make me sick but the spray vitamins never did that.

Before I was started on monthy B-12 injections.. I asked about the spray B-12 and the (melt under the tongue type).. Both My PCP and Surgeon said "No" to both saying neither would be absorbed any better than oral vitamins so injections it was for me.. But if your in doubt ask your surgeon or PCP for which is best for you.. If your LABS show decrease in B-12 level they can do a special test called a Serum MMA that shows your ability to absorb B-12. So Now I have a monthly shot (insurance covered mine) and I'm good to go all month..
