Question:
Would some of you who have been approved for a distal gastric bypass...

by either BCBS of Michigan or BCBS of Texas please post to this message page or to me privately. I have BCBS PPO of MI but live in Texas therefore they are letting the Texas reviewers handle my case. I have officially been denied the distal bypass. They agree that my policy does cover the surgical treatment of morbid obesity but are denying a distal bypass of any kind at this point. I know there are those who have been approved for a distal bypass who had either BCBS of MI or of TX so I REALLY, REALLY, need to hear from you. Thanks,    — Sheila B. (posted on July 26, 2000)
