Question:
Can a transection be done by lap?

Just asking again a question that didn't get answered earlier. Can the stomach be transected and sutured if done laproscopic?    — Bryytteyes (posted on July 6, 2000)

Absolutely, yes. My daughter and I both have had lap RNYs this year and in both cases, the stomach was transected. Dr. Champion in Atlanta, GA, was our surgeon (www.drchampion.com).

Yes. Dr.Wetter, my surgeon here in the Bay Area, showed a video, of the lap operation from the inside, to the support group at Mills Hospital. The instrument that he uses staples and cuts at the same time.
