Question:
Protein
Hi guys. I was wondering if anyone out there has a good tasting smoothie that I can drink for breakfast and that I can add protein powder. I would appreciate it!! Thanks! — MissAuntieK (posted on July 3, 2000)

I've discovered a really good protein drink - which I purchased in the
Vanilla flavor - called Spiru-Tein. Check it out at your local health food
store. It also comes in individual serving packets so you can try the
various flavors. You mix it with one cup of skim milk. Sometimes I add
frozen blueberries, banana, or peaches. It provides 100% of the daily
requirement of ALL VITAMINS and some minerals and tastes good, to me
anyway! You could add some of the other people's suggestions to this also
- just realize that you add calories when you do that. Bon appetit'

My easiest smoothie is made with strawberry or vanilla yogurt (I always buy
the low-fat store brands, they usually only have about 10g sugar which is
less than an equivalent amount of fruit) and strawberry Designer Protein. I
use 1 container of yogurt, 2 scoops of protein and a cup of ice. Another
good one uses any citrus flavor yogurt, 1/2 cup orange juice, 2 scoops
Natural flavor protein and 1/2 cup ice. 1/2 a banana seems to improve most
any smoothie, and be sure to use a blender for the smoothest drink. As Barb
said, be creative. Use whatever you have on hand in the form of fruit,
juice or yogurt. Any 'berry' yogurt with a banana, natural flavor protein
and ice is good. Orange juice with vanilla yogurt, ice and natural flavor
protein gives you a 'creamsicle' flavor and texture. Vanilla protein would
be good in it, too. Have fun!

I'm a vegetarian, so I combine the following ingredients: 3-4 ozs.tofu
(silken), 3-4 ozs, soy milk, skim milk, OR non-fat yogurt, one or two of my
favorite fruits (if you use fresh fruit, add ice cubes, otherwise frozen
fruit works great) & protein powder. Tastes awesome!!!
