Question:
Looking for relaxation CD too
I am looking for a good relaxation CD as well. I'm thinking it calm my anxiety pre-op, especially during surgery prep. immediately prior to surgery. Don't know if I'd actually use it during the surgery. Thought it might also be nice on the long car ride home after discharge, to make the ride go more quickly. Would appreciate any ideas. The only thing I can think of is the section I saw at Target once. Six days til surgery and counting... Lori ;) — Lori B. (posted on April 7, 2000)

Hi Lori. My personal favorite CD of choice when it comes to relaxing is an
instrumental CD I found at Meijers. Its in one of those sections where you
can sample the music. It is called Autumn in New England and it has a maple
leaf on the cover.I love this so much I even had the D.J. at my wedding
reception play it during dinner and I also used some of the songs in the
actual ceremony.Hope you'll be able to pick it up and good luck with your
surgery,I'm still awaiting approval myself. :) Kristie

Dr. Andrew Weil has a new CD out that is specifically made for surgery,
before/during/after. Amazon.com has it in both CD and tape, but consider
that with the CD you don't have to keep turning it over like a tape (or
have the tapedeck noise of a automatic reversal). The CD is made with
specific sounds that induce different brainwaves and these are made for
healing. I already have my copy for my surgery, altho it isn't even
scheduled yet. I am using it now with some positive visualization so that
once I do have surgery, they can knock me out, but my brain will just kick
into the habit that has been formed. I aim to be the fastest recovery my
surgeon has ever seen.

I love the Pure Moods CD which can be found at any music store or Wal-mart.
It has a mixture of lyrical and musical songs. Try #13! IT is my favorite!
