Question:
How long did it take for your incision scar to fade?

...and what, if anything, did you apply that worked? I still see my incision scar, from Open RNY 8/20/99, as a reminder of my re-birth... but... today I want to have some idea when I can wear some cute crop tops :-) Thanks for the ideas Group....    — California J. (posted on February 16, 2000)

I had my surgery on 8/14/99. I still see my scar too, however, I am putting pure Vitamin E oil on it at night and it is fading pretty good. Good Luck. Linda ([email protected]) Victorville, CA

My open RNY was on September 10, 1999. My scar is a thin line -- currently fading from pink to white. It starts about an inch below my bra and is now about 3 inches long. I'll bet by summer it will be very hard to detect except for close-up. I use a product called "Surgeon's Secret," which is glygerine and lanolin-based, on it twice a day.
