Question:
Have any post-ops suddenly had upper back pain/stiffness when getting up in the am?

I am just over 3 months post-op and have suddenly this past week had upper back pain. When sitting up from sleeping, I often get a sharp pain. Then it is stiff and sore until my shower. During the day I am not as aware of it, but I do feel stiffness. It is an odd place for me to have pain as it is not up in the shoulders. It also doesn't seem to be after I eat like some previous posts talked about. Any info would be appreciated.    — Dot W. (posted on January 3, 2000)

I had very similar pain for at least a couple months after surgery. Someone else told me they thought it was from the hard steel operating room table. It did go away eventually.. I saw the chiropractor a few times also..

Yes, ever since my surgery I have had upper back pain and pain in my shouler area and neck. I think a chiropractor would help me.
