Question:
Referral Wait time?

While I realize there are many variables, I'm wondering what the average wait time is from PCP visit to actually getting the referral? Any info is appreciated. Thanks!    — [Anonymous] (posted on October 5, 1999)

I went to my pcp on September 092499 and they sent the referral on the following Monday. I got my approval today.....I think that was a lot quicker than normal though. I did have neweigh contact them prior to going to the pcp and I think that helped. They already knew the referral was coming. I think they worked up a chart. Well, good luck. I have my first Dr's appt tomorrow (boy this is all happening realllll fast). Hope yours works out that way too. E-mail me if you need or want to talk. I find a surgeon made sure they took my insurance and made the appointment, then I called my PCP made an appointment with her told her what I would like to do far as having the surgery and got the referral the same day.

the referral weight time can be an eternity if you don't stay after the PCP's office staff....things have a tendenct to get lost in the shuffle if you know what I mean.....Remember the squeeky wheel gets the oil..so squeek away
