Question:
What if you are not hungry at all, and you feel sick when you do try to eat?

I'm 2 weeks postop with a VBG with a tube.. I feel sore and not hungry at all ..I am supposed to eat twice a day and drink 2 liters of water...its hard to get anything down...most of my water I've been getting thru the tube...but I feel sick when I eat..jello or pudding or soup...and having massive gas and acid reflux...is this normal????    — Mona S. Mona, Yes. First of all, you probably won't feel to hungry only 2 weeks out of surgery. That will change, you will be hungry again trust me. You also will be sore for a while. You just went through major surgery!! Give you body some time to heal. As far as the water and any food....go very very, slowly. When you feel sick...stop. Do not try to force yourself. As you heal, you will be able to eat and drink more and more...that is when you will have more and more trouble getting the weight off...so enjoy the weight loss while you can...eat and drink everything very slowly...and take your time. You will feel pain in your chest which is a sign to slow down or even just stop!!! Yes the gas and reflux are normal espically for just 2 weeks post-op. They will get better at time goes by...just take your time. Take it slow and easy and enjoy your time off work...and rest...Hope this helps...Have a good one...Linda.

Sorry, but unless I know where that tube is going, I cannot give you good advice. Your surgeon might want to do an xray with you drinking some contrast liquid so he or she can see what is happening.
