Been taking synthroid for 2 years. I have been gaining weight. Should I still try ?

Still seriously look at having surgery? You bet! Hypothyroidism is not a
reason to NOT have surgery. Go for it!

Thanks Susan,
I am so afraid that I will be denied. I only had one problem with my
synthroid and that was about 6 months ago ( I didn't want to take it, and
didn't for about 23 days). It was awful my hair was brittle and came out
tremendously and I gained about 15 EXTRA pounds. That won't happen again.

I have been on synthroid since 1992...........am now two years out from RNY
and am seven pounds below my personal goal. Hypothyroidism is no reason to
not have surgery. It is easily controlled with medication. I take mine
religiously every morning just as told too and have never had a problem.
