Question:
Anyone been told they need a chest x-ray??
Hi guys, recently I went to get my blood taken and about a week after my PCP called me up about five times and told me I needed a chest x-ray. I asked her why and she simply shot off some stuff about my white blood cell count being down, something about my lymph nodes and something else was out of whack. I know that doesn't help much, but that's all she told me. Do you think I should be concerned? She's being very careful to not let me think anything is wrong, but I'm still curious. I exercise every day, at least an hour per day and I don't know if I should lessen the intensity of my workouts or not. Should I just go on and not worry about it? — mars.renee (posted on August 2, 2005)

I had to have a chest x-ray as part of my meeting the anethesiologist.
They found an "infiltrate" in my right lung and come to find out
it was an ols pneumonia scar. So there is really nothing to be too worried
about. Make sure that you follow up with either your surgeon or PCP.
God Bless

Do go ahead with the x-ray as ordered by your Doc but try to put a lid on
your worry about what may be wrong. I know, easier said than done. But
think of it this way, if there is something wrong, knowing sooner rather
than later is a good thing. Also, if your Doc is alert enough to want to
further investigate some abnormal lab result, be thankful that he is as so
many doctors these days seem to be practicing medicine for the wrong
reasons and patients are more like cattle, nameless faceless masses to be
run through the mill . Good luck. Janis
