Question:
How much cereal or grains are people able to eat at almost 2 years out?

You can eat cereals and grains after surgery...WHOLE GRAINS AND WHOLE GRAIN
CEREALS...you want to make sure you are eating complex carbs only. You
should still be doing protein first, then veggies, then cereals or grains.
I am 20 months out and eat whole grains only...even grind my own grains for
flours. Good luck! Carmen

Not 2 years yet but I have been eating cereals. My fav is Carbwell just
because 3/4 c gives you 10 gram protein. Plus the milk I use.....I can get
17 grams with breakfast. If it does not have a lot of protein I don't
indulge.

Ok, I'm about 4 years out, but the volume of food I can eat hasn't changed
since 2 years. I can eat about a cup and a half of cereal, depending on
the kind. I feel like crud when I do, so I don't do it too often. I'm not
sure why cereal bothers me, but it does. I can usually eat breads w/o
incident, I just try not to. It leads to eating the entire loaf. LOL I
will admit to eating mulit-grain eggos a little more often than I should,
and I can comfortably eat two. Hope that helps.

More than I'd like to, so long ago (probably about a year post-op), I
stopped eating cereal with skim milk, as that enables me to eat too much.
Instead, I eat cereal mixed with yogurt now. Fills up the pouch in a true
single-serving size, keeps me from being able to eat too much of it in a
sitting. :-) I'm three years post-op now, and the yogurt trick still
works.
