Question:
I have PCOS and insulin resistance.
I realize that everyone is different, but I was wondering, is it even possible for someone like me to get to goal after having RNY? Is it possible for someone like me to maintain long term? Any info given would be much appreciated. Thanks! — CD L. (posted on June 23, 2005)

Oh yes!! it is possible!! I too have PCOS.. and 1 year later i now only
have 19 pounds to go to reach my goal!!I will add that i feel FAB as
well!!!
My cycle is straightened out, i am very regular now although I do still
have horrible PMS and cramps... but I will take it! It is such a pleasure
to be regular, and release every month... it helps with my weight loss.
I haent taken any meds for my insulin resistance since the surgery, and my
numbers dropped from 87 to 9!!!!
I have never been healthier!!! So YES!!This has gotten me more than
healthy, and I could not be happier!!! Keep me posted on your situation,
and I wish you all the best!!!

I have PCOS and was 325 lbs and am now 138 lbs, so yes it is possible!!! I
had my WLS 2.5 years ago, I work hard everyday to maintain, the fear of
going back keeps me on track!! Good luck, it is a lot of hard work, but it
can be done!!!
