Question:
How long did it take to get rid of the H. Pylori Infection.

My surgeon put me on the PrevPak once and said that one time is enough to clear the infection forever...Thats odd that you've had to be on it twice...Maybe you need to get more testing and see if its something more than the HPylori.

Hi, I am in the same boat as you except, I am still waiting for my doctor to call in prescription, he said I would have to take it for two weeks!--then able to have surgery!

My surgery is Monday and I am on my first week of treatment. I will have to give my meds through my g-tube for the second week.

have they retested you to be sure the Hp is still there they can do a simple breath test, a blood test, or a stool sample to see if the bacteria is gone or not. also be aware just because you are treated and cleared it does not mean you can never have it reoccur in the future

Hi. Don't feel bad, I was on the prev-pac three times and then went on to Helidac. I still had Hpylori when the surgery took place on May 26th 2005. I'm feeling great.. So, I guess it all depends on your doctor,, Good Luck
