Question:
How much can you eat at 10 months out?
I am just curious. Some days I can eat more than others. I know everyone one is different, but can you give me an idea of what and how much you eat if you are around 10 months out? Even if you aren't I am interested in hearing from you, too. It's 2:30pm and so far today I had 1 Hashbrown patty and 2 slices turkey bacon for breakfast at 8am. 1/3 burrito bowl from Chiptole Grill at 12pm (steak, pinto beans, lettuce, tomato, salsa, cheese, and rice, but I was very careful not to eat too much rice. I gave most of the rice to my husband!) I had a few sips of a new protein shake at 2:25p, but I think I am dumping from it now. It tasted pretty good, but now I have a headache, I feel dizzy and kinda sluggish. I only got to drink a few sips so it is now in the freezer. It was 1 scoop unjury, 1 cup water, 1/8 cup whipping cream, 1 tsp splenda, 1 1/2 tsp PB, and ice. Tastes kinda like a Butterfinger. I have had all of these ingredients before, so I am not sure why I feel like this now, but oh well. I plan to eat dinner around 6pm and will probably have 1 baked pork chop and a side of green beans and maybe another protein shake around 8 or 9pm if I am hungry. Does this sound like alot of food? I am 10 months out and I am down from 280 to 165. I am pretty much at goal, but I always worry about gaining and if I am eating too much. I worry about if I have stretched my pouch or if I will stretch it in the near future. Iknow it stretches over time, but I still worry about it. I have my times when I feel like I can eat just about anything, but every now and then I dump. Can't really pinpoint it though. I am still trying to figure it out. Anyway, thanks in advance! — ToriJ (posted on April 19, 2005)

You probably got the headache & dumping feeling from the
Carbs in the rice. It has a habit of acting like dumping
as you coje down off of those carbs. I eat mostly protein
& am 13 months out from surgery. I have lost 135 lbs too,
but have stalled lately and can't seem to get below 200. My
doc says it get harder now, & its all about choices & amounts. So
as long as you stay away from any snacking & you
stay with 3 meals a day (small) not more than 4 or 5 oz. meals & at
least 64 oz or more of liquid mostly water you should be fine. We can't
strecth the pouch but it does get
easier to eat more as time goes by. So you have to control
that by stopping at a certain amount of food and not going
any further. You can train your pouch to survive on smaller
amounts, Its just doing it. Hang in There & we can get trhu this
together. Hope this helps you out a little bit.
